Cherry
さくらんぼ
Known as "red jewels" in Japan, Japanese cherries represent the pinnacle of cherry cultivation worldwide. Nurtured in Yamagata Prefecture's pristine air, pure mountain water, and dramatic day-night temperature variations, these cherries achieve a quality found nowhere else on earth.
Each cherry gleams like a polished ruby, with flesh that delivers a perfectly orchestrated balance of concentrated sweetness and refreshing acidity. Varieties like Sato Nishiki and Benishuho are uniquely Japanese cultivars with an elegance unmatched by any cherry in the world.
The harvest window is remarkably brief — just 2-3 weeks in June. Every cherry is hand-picked with extraordinary care, sorted and boxed the same day. Only the most beautiful and sweetest specimens earn the coveted "Tokushu" (Special Excellence) grade.
HOW TO ENJOY:
Remove from refrigerator 10 minutes before serving to let the full aroma develop. Hold by the stem and savour one by one. Use as fresh fruits topping on premium fruit cake or spongecake. Magnificent alongside champagne or as cocktail garnish.
PERFECT FOR:
Early summer greetings, Father's Day, Mother's Day, and premium corporate gifts. Highly recommended as fresh fruits for sweet confectionary exquisite cakes or fresh fruit tarts. The extreme rarity — available for mere weeks each year — makes Japanese cherries one of the most exclusive fruit gifts in existence.
